Madrix Email response time? Key question

I have a new to me key. All I really know about it for sure is the serial number. I have all the original packaging less the install CD? How can I tell if it's been activated? I have no ticket number nor do I know who the selling dealer may have been.
On the rear of the packaging next to bar code is the words professional madrix key and the serial number. That number is 3-3897501 it matches the number in he key.
I've sent an email to info@madrix.com. What is their average response time?
How should I proceed?
