Hello,

I have my installation complete , now using madrix pro.

I'm facing some problems with remote http and have some questions.

1. I've connected 4 X-net 8 to the system using a d-link switch.
2. my main pc ip is 2.16.x.x.x. given my artnet.
3. Im connecting a wifi adapter to make able to receive wireless on the pc.
4. My internet connection is going into a wifi router which all my pc's are connected too.

Once i was able to connect to madrix using my laptop , but after sometime it stopped working dont know why may be the isp connection became slow. NOW the main question is do i have to be connected to INTERNET to use remote http ? can i share the connections between the madrix pc , router & my remote controlling pc/ or iphone ?

i would be glad if i get some help for the same.

thx.
b

Hi mission_rave,
.
it sounds a little bit like you send your ArtNet data thru the WiFI connection which you use for internet as well.
I hope this is not the case ;-)
.
However i recommend to split the networks for ArtNet and Remote Http / internet.
.
If you are using ArtNet in the broadcast way all the data for the X-Net´s will send to your complete network, which could be the reason for your issue.
.
If possible use separate networks for the ArtNet and your Internet.
.
For using remote http it is not necessary to be online with the internet.
Your MADRIX pc and your remote device have to be in the same network, than you have to enter the MADRIX pc ip in your remote device to get access to MADRIX (of course only if you have enabled the remote http option in MADRIX).

as wissman said you only can use artnet in your same network where you have your pc or router conecct it but if you wish to controll madrix from http over the internet you need to do port fowarding like the ip cameras to control madrix (without having madrix artnet over internet because your ip changes all the time for most internet service provider) do this port fowarding in your modem settings over the internet. Just google it port fowarding. in my case work real good!!! :) ( dont forget to foward your main ip wich is the same one as your using on madrix to control your artnet)
