Support for Smart Home standard - Matter

It would be really cool to support Matter in an update to Madrix. I would be most interested in allowing Matter-enabled user interface devices to provide control input to a Madrix system.

Full disclosure: I have a mui board (a really amazing "calm" UI device, search mui labs inc.) that is going to receive a Matter update for controlling various things like lighting and music. I have it mounted near the door into a new building, and would like to use it to turn on the overhead lights in that entry room. Said overhead lights are actually a 25x23 foot, 76x70 pixel display controlled by Madrix to provide general lighting or specialized effects for art or task lighting.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

--michael

Hi mbarnstijn,

Welcome to the MADRIX forum. Thank you for your request!

For now you can use HTTP remote in order to control MADRIX 5 remotely with a building management system.

Here you will find the HTTP documentation with all available commands:
https://help.madrix.com/m5/httpremote/H ... ntrol.html

Apart from HTTP there are a couple of other options for remote control, please find a complete list here:

Thanks, @Schulze. I am aware of the existing Madrix remote control capabilities.

My specific use case (mui board) does not implement anything that can interface with those capabilities.

That's why I put in a Wish for a future upgrade to Madrix to support the new Smart Home industry's standard for control and interoperability: "Matter". All of the major control device and lighting device manufacturers will be implementing support for Matter.

I look forward to seeing Madrix's plan for contributing to this new interoperability system.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,
