Varying Y axis patch length.

I'm very new to Madrix and currently trying to program some Christmas lights.
I have 12 different star configurations using RGBW LED Strip. Each star has 12 points. 6 of one size and 6 of the other. There are then 3 different sizes. For example:
4 stars with 6 x 64 pixels and 6 x 51 pixels (Large)
4 stars with 6 x 51 pixels and 6 x 32 pixels (Med)
4 stars with 6 x 32 pixels and 6 x 9 pixels (Small)
How do I organise my patch and create 12 groups with the correct number of pixels per group so for example a large star only has 690 pixels rather than simply patching 12 x 64 and ending up with 768 pixels.
The video gives a better illustration of the arrangment: https://youtu.be/NDUXyFZuf9Y
Thanks for your help!
