Madrix and Resolume

Just working on a project and the LJ wants to use Resolume to control Madrix. On my workbence I am using a MAC running resolume which I am then bringing in to Madrix using SCE Capture. It is partially working but is coming up with an error on the Main preview of "Found Artnet node without valid MAC address". Looking in the logs this is backed up by it referencing the Macs IP address as having no MAC address. Then in Device Manager the Mac is showing its device name, it is showing the IP address but with no MAC address.

I have tried adding this manually as a Art-Net input node but it still doesn't work and also then adds in the Mac again as an additional input.

Anyone come across this before?

Hey

I already have this kind of error message about Mac address, it's not a big deal, it's just one element on your network that have somehow an hidden or not reachable Mac address.
This error message never affected the stability of my setup.
I have it on a big tv show, with a lot of networking cause I was on the main light Artnet system.
And no problem never occurred

Hello guys,

The MAC address is part of the so called Art-Net PollReply package of Art-Net nodes. According to your explanation it sounds like Resolume is sending a Art-Net PollReply as soon as it was started. The MADRIX in the same network receives and interprets it. It also sounds like the received MAC address in the Art-Net PollReply package from the Resolume computer is send with address 00:00:00:00:00:00 which shouldn't be sent. Because every partipant in a network must have a registered uniquie MAC address and thus the error message occurs.

Of course with MAC address 00:00:00:00:00:00 it will work until only one participant in the network has this address. As soon as 2 devices it, the trouble starts and you will need to figure it out.

In this case I recommend to contact the manufacturer of resolume to kindly ask to add the valid MAC address of the used computer in the Art-Net PollReply packages.
