Bundle 1 question

Post by -bart- »

In your product overview it is not entirely clear how many SPI pixels are unlocked by each key.

The bundle 1 package comes with the entry key.
The entry key unlocks 2048 dmx channels.
The Nebula interface can drive 1360 pixels.

Can I use all 1360 pixels with this bundle ?

Hi Bart,
.
Thanks for your inquiry!
.
An SPI pixel could mean different things. It usually refers to RGB LEDs (red, green, and blue), but it could also be 1-channel (e.g., white) or 4-channel lights (e.g., RGBW), for example.
.
Each color requires a control channel (3 colors require 3 DMX control channels when talking about RGB). And if we are talking about individually controllable pixels, which usually is the case, then a single pixel requires this amount of control channels each.
.
The NEBULA can control 1360 RGB pixels (or 4096 1-channel LED pixels or 1024 RGBW pixels, for example). It is important to make the distinction between these different pixels.
.
The MADRIX KEY entry unlocks 2048 DMX control channels or 4 DMX universes. It therefore unlocks control for 680 RGB pixels. That is why we also talk about 8 DMX universes when it comes to NEBULA.
.
With Product Bundle 1, you will not be able to unlock all 1360 RGB pixels which a NEBULA could drive; only half of it.
.
You could use 2x MADRIX KEY entry, but that is the same price as MADRIX KEY basic, which unlocks 8192 DMX channels / 16 DMX universes.
.
Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks!
