Support for 16-bit DMX pixels

Post by JasonCA »

It looks like only 8-bit RGB dmx pixels can be patched and mapped.
Please add support for 16-Bit RGB pixels.

Hello JasonCA,

At the moment MADRIX is working wiht a color depth of 8 bit.
To control 16 bit bit fixtures at the moment you will need to emulate the 16 bit in the way to set the course and fine value to the same color control of MADRIX.

Of course we will add this wish to the feature wish list.

Thanks for the response. I'm not sure how I would "emulate the 16 bit in the way to set the course and fine value to the same color control".

In the Fixture Editor --> Channel Settings
Is there where you would create the Coarse/Fine channels per Color (i.e Red 1)?

Yes, you would ideally create a new fixture profile in the Fixture Editor and assign color Red to channels 1 and 2, color Green to channels 3 and 4, and color Blue to channels 5 and 6, for example. Then, any color value Red in MADRIX 5 would increase both channels 1 and 2, for example, for 16-bit control of this color channel.
