Dynamic switching between 2 (...) Patches for Effects
Hey Guys.
What about to create a possibility to switch between 2 different Patches for the Effects.
I know this might not an easy way to integrate...
Sample:
I have a triangle.
On the one hand I want to do linear effects applyied to the triangle itself, so pixel 1 to 100 from one to the next,
on the other hand, I would apply an effect from the top to the bottom.
What do you think?
I have some Ideas how to realize it. Sure, not easy but possible...
Greetings,
Toby

Hey Toby,
My idea would be to patch it twice (in one big patch) and then make use of the Fixture Groups + Mapping.
For example the first patch variant would be on z-layer 1 and the second one on z-layer 2. So one z-layer would contain the approximated triangle patch and the second one for example a straight line to achieve different visual outcomes.
I hope this helps you!

Nice Idea
I will test it. Thank you for this hint.
Do you have a sample project or youtube tutorial for more informations about this?
And does it work with DVI Output as well?
Most of my projects are realized with DVI Mappings.

Hi Toby,
- It is necessary to use Fixture Groups + Mapping to make it work.
- Therefore basically you will need to duplicate everything (including the DMX addresses). The next step would be to create the corresponding Fixture Groups.
- In the last step you would need to map the desired effects to the correct Fixture Groups.
- I recommend to carry out a simple test using a visualizer.
- No, I'm sorry, but there is no tutorial available for it.Do you have a sample project or youtube tutorial for more informations about this?

- No, but unfortunately this doesn't work with DVI. Sorry! And does it work with DVI Output as well?
