Need info about sensors
Hello,
I just received an ORION box in order to add interactivity in some of LED installations but I'm a bit lost in this ocean of sensors ...
I would like to build a passage detector when people cross an area ( detection distance : about 3 to 5m)
I don't know which type of sensor to choose ?
Do I need to focus on lasers, ultrasonic, infrared ? I'm lost ...
for exemple: if I buy some ultrasonic sensor, they have 4 pins to connect, so they're not compatible with Orion, that's right ?

Welcome to the MADRIX Forum.
The connected component needs to be analog (0-12V). I assume a "light barrier / photoelectric sensor" or a "distance measuring sensor" would work in your case. Make sure to use a device with analog output. Still we can't recommend a certain product, as there are too many products and manufacturers on the market.
The device with 4 pins is most likely a digital one, this won't work.
