Mapped layer isn't transparent outside of it's boundaries

Post by reporter »

Hi

Here's a quick one and easy to replicate (at least with a 3D setup)

If I map the top layer by scaling it to 50% on the y, it does't let the layers below show, instead filling the areas that should be transparent with black.

I want to map half an area with 1 layer and the other half with another layer.

Thanks,

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

Can you please double-check the settings.

You were adjusting the values in the "Tile" section (right). Whereas you meant to adjust them in the "Map" section (left). When done in the Map section, I have no trouble displaying two different effects on the top and lower half.

Thanks!

Ok, it is correct what Martin wrote, but indeed it is a bug what Nathan wrote and it is already fixed for the release.
So both variants are possible.
For higher Performance it makes more sense to use the map Option.
LEDs are nothing without control ;-)

Hi,

Thanks for the clarification. The tile functionality gets lost when testing with solid colours, but once I put an actual effect in there, I can see how it would be useful.

But it shouldn't mask out the layer behind? And that's what you've fixed?

Thanks,

Nathan

I have a number of installation which use 15" touchscreens. These screens all run at 1024 x 768 which used to be the default resolution for Madrix.
