Kinetic light with dmx hoist
How do you control the fixtures with both rgb and movement like the ones in this installation?

Hi Joebar,
.
There are several ways on how you can achieve this.
.
1) You can use MADRIX for both pixel mapping/colors and movement. Thereby, a Storage Place/scene/effect, would be split in two parts. For example, the left part is mapped to the area where RGB fixtures are patched. There, your color patterns would be created. The right part, for example, would send data to the DMX channels for movement (via a monochrome height map). Full intensity could mean full length of the winch and no intensity could mean, winch back on top. So, first patching these fixtures correctly is very important.
.
2) You can use MADRIX for pixel mapping and a lighting console for example for the movement. While MADRIX sends the color data, the console sends the movement data; both preferably over Art-Net. Then, you can use MADRIX LUNA, which automatically merges data from two Art-Net source into one DMX signal for the fixtures.
.
Does that help?

Re: Kinetic light with dmx hoist
yes ,i realized that the hoist only used 1 channel for travel tought it was one up and one down so now i know how to get it working in theory any way ,we´ll see when i get the hardware...
Thanks
