Dynamic illumination of the building facade

Post by DSL »

Hello!
We plan to implement a project of dynamical illumination of the building's facade (about 512 meters SPI of the controlled video line type AL16100 (16 pixels per meter)) using software from Madrix.
The project is previewed as follows:
1) PC with the license
2) Ethernet switch
3) Converters to spi
Question about the type of license for 8192 pixels (in your documentation is indicated Prof on 32768 DMX channels) - how to convert to Spi management?
Features of the program - change the effects in ONLINE mode from a remote PC?
Effects Library, is it expanding on its own or paid by Marix?
Connecting signal wires from converters to video lines - type dmx or type RS485 - length limitation, taking into account data rate loss?
Is it feasible to implement a project on a DMX protocol using LUNA 16?
Is it possible to get a 3d model of the facade with superimposed effects?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Hello DSL,
Welcome to the MADRIX forum.
.
When you want to control 8192 RGB pixels, you will need 24576 DMX channels because every pixel needs 3 channels (for red, green and blue). So the MADRIX KEY professional is sufficient.
The most SPI converters are receiving DMX or Art-Net data. That means you will send for instance the Art-Net data to the SPI device like the MADRIX NEBULA and the device will convert it to the desired SPI protocol and send it to the connected stripes.
.
It is possible to control MADRIX remotely via an included HTTP server form another PC or mobile device which is working in the same network.
.
In MADRIX you will have all effects included. You don't need to pay the effect library seperately. So you can create your desired content easily by changing the parameters of the effect, change the size and position of the effect or combine more effects together.
.
Of course it is also possible to use DMX fixtures and a MADRIX LUNA to illumintate the fassade.
.
At the moment it is not possible to import a 3D model in MADRIX or in the patch. For this task you will need an additional visualization software. In the most cases you can create the patch in MADRIX according to the location of the fixtures in the real installation.

In the project it is supposed to use converters of the type ARTNET DIRECTOR8.

My vision is the connection diagram

https://cloud.mail.ru/public/2367/LEno9V1vE
- Is it correct?

Is it possible to connect the video of the AL16100 line using a twisted-pair cable such as ETHERNET? Are there limitations on the length of these wires in view of the speed loss? Or use an adapter in the RS485?
Can it be necessary to install converters in the immediate vicinity of the video rulers?
Also, you are talking about the license MadriX Pro with the calculation of DMX equipment - in the case of using ARTNET-SPI converters, is the license of the type of the standard not suitable? (The principle of license recalculation in the case of using this converter is not clear)

Hello DSL,
.
Regarding the posted connection diagram I can only give you a statement about the connection from the output of the PC to the input of the input of the ARTNET-SPI controllers. This connection is correct. You will need a network switch with at least 7 ports where will be the PC and the 6 controllers connected.
For the connection of the "AL16100" stripes to the ARTNET-SPI controller I can not give you a statement if it is correct.
Because of the ARTNET-SPI controller is not a MADRIX product I can not give you a recommendation about the cable length and which cable you should use for the connection of the "AL16100" to the ARTNET-SPI controller. Please contact the hardware manufacturer for this information.
.
The MADRIX KEY professional unlocks 64 DMX universes (32768 DMX channels). Now it is equals how you will send the DMX data to the fixtures. Art-Net is nothing else as DMX over ethernet. That means with a MADRIX KEY professional you can also send the Art-Net data to the desired nodes.
